With authentically hand-spun, pot dyed wool, this scarf captures the sophisticated character and quality of hand-woven fabrics. Tie it, loop it , or knot it, use it as a wrap, a throw or a shawl : it’s beautifully versatile. Hand-loomed by the Magdoum family from the holy city of Kairouan, famous worldwide for its fine art weaving and exceptional workmanship, it’s incredibly soft and durable.
The Magdoum’s father and sons are at the held of one of the oldest family of weavers, they try to perpetuate the ancient traditions of hand-loomed fabrics, threatened by the emergence of mecanical looms. Their creations reveal a style rooted deeply in the artisanal traditions of the mediterannean coast , where every aspect of life is truly inspired by its unique pastoral setting. As Abel says “hand-woven fabric has an added value of being softer and it breathes better than machine made fabric, it has this visible character and textural beauty that can not be seen in machine made fabrics : it’s for people who nurture a connection to the natural world in their lives.”
For us, hand-loomed scarves are the perfect accessory for every season: they will keep you cozy and add a relaxed elegance to everyday outfits…An easy, alluring and affordable way to refresh your style!
